It is advisable to prepare the concrete basement sockets on the hard floor, if necessary, to install thick plates to support the adjusting screw screws. The precision obtained by the turn depends on the accuracy of its leveling. It is therefore necessary to use precise levels, graduated between 2/100 and 5/100 of a millimeter per meter; a special wedge, supplied with the lathe fits on the rails of the bench and allows leveling checks. ËLINCACE Comply with the provisions indicated by the drawing below Leveling operations Perform the various maneuvers as shown below: 1 ° Place the transverse wedge on the guides of the carriage near the doll. 2 ° Place the level on the flat surface of the hold. 3 ° Act on the cylinders of the bases in order to obtain the proper transversal leveling. The cylinders must be supported on plates of sheets of about 150 x 100 mm and previously embedded in the concrete. Precise transversal leveling is very important The longitudinal leveling, of less importance, must nevertheless hold the attention of the editors. 4 ° Execute cross leveling at the end of the bench, tailstock side. 5 ° Check again the leveling near the doll and correct, if necessary by carrying out the previous operations until obtaining a perfect leveling at each point of control. 6 ° Proceed to the sealing. It is recommended to pour cement between the floor and the bases to obtain a better foundation. When the tour is sealed, perform a final check beforecommissioning. Periodic checking of leveling It is necessary to periodically check the leveling of the lathe every quarter. Improper leveling would result in abnormal torsional stress on the spindle and poor carriage reach on the bench. Behind the stirrup place a washer and a nut. Any tightening action on the nut must cause the pin to come out. By the particular arrangement of its bearings the dismantling and the the spindle must be reassembled without any adjustment of the bearings. Disassembly of the bearing The spindle once removed the disassembly of the bearing AV s1 performs by unscrewing the nut (G) after having taken care to previously raise the tab of the lock washer taken in a slot of the nut. VERY IMPORTANT - Disassembly of this bearing must not be performed without absolute necessity. Disassembly of the bearing AR By dismounting the spindle the AR bearing remains in its bore in the doll body. To remove it, unscrew the screws (H) and remove the flange (J) • Attention: The AR bearing is preloaded by a series of springs arranged around the outer cage, it is necessary during disassembly to take care to retain them, to avoid their fall in the lower part of the doll and the box advances. Reassembly of the spindle Make sure that the bearings are absolutely clean and that no dust or foreign matter has penetrated inside. Slightly squeeze the wheel of the harness to facilitate its fitting on the spindle. Avoid jamming the direct drive clutch (K) against its fork while continually operating the control cam (very important). Well check finally, the orientation of the outer bowl of the double bearing before its introduction into the doll body. The positioning pin (L) must fit freely into the notch made in its collar. Adjustment of tapered spindle roller bearings These bearings, of very high precision, are set in our workshops, with a rigorously determined game. In principle, the adjustment must remain for several months of uninterrupted operation, even at the highest permitted speeds. It is therefore recommended to the user, and especially during the warranty period, not to revise this setting, except with great caution. Moreover, we can not advise you too much to consult our after-sales service before deciding on the advisability of a new setting. Indeed, this adjustment being very delicate, may cause a damaging clamping of the bearing AV causing significant temperature rises. Any bearing that has been heated abnormally must be considered permanently damaged and unsuitable for the execution of precision work. Verification of the spindle bearings If it is not possible to intervene directly on the setting of the spindle bearings, it is advisable to periodically check the general behavior of the spindle for grazing, as well as the precision of the dimensions and the quality of the surface. It should be noted, however, that grazing does not always originate from a rolling game; apart from other causes, which are not very well known, it may also be due to too tight a bearing. a) CONTROL OF THE GAMES. At a cold temperature of approximately +10 to +20 ° centigrade, the AV bearing must have an axial clearance ranging from 0.015 mm to 0.02 mm maximum. This game can only be recorded with precision by completely removing the elastic preload of the AR bearing. To do this, gradually loosen the 4 screws (H) placed on the rear flange, but do not release them completely from their threads. Place a comparator at the end of the spindle and move it by hand, alternately to the tailstock and in the opposite direction. Never try under pain of significant error, to measure the indicated game by placing levers under the collar of the nose of pin, under the pretext that by pushing it more strongly, it is possible to read more important displacements. These displacements come much more from elastic bending than from true games in the bearings. b) TEMPERATURE CONTROL. This control has only a relative importance for a machine already regulated by us. Nevertheless, it is good to know that a temperature exceeding 50 ° centigrade above the ambient after uninterrupted operation of an average duration of 1 hour 30 at a spindle speed of 2500 rpm would be the index of abnormal operation. In this case, consult our after-sales service at the earliest. For this verification, place an industrial mercury thermometer in the cavity provided for this purpose, at the top of the AV flange and previously filled with oil (see sketch). c) PRACTICAL TEST. One of the tests carried out in our workshops during the reception of our machines, makes it possible to check the adjustment of the spindle bearings; this test is the following: A section of semi-hard steel, with a resistance of 55 to 60 kg / mm 2, with an average diameter of 60 mm and a length of 130 mm, is mounted in 3 jaws strongly tightened on a previously turned end. The spindle speed was set for a cutting speed of 15 to 20 m / min. A 18x18 mm high-speed steel left-hand tool with a 45 ° angle of attack is mounted on the tool turret. A penetration of 2 mm at the radius for an advance of 0, 1 mm per revolution at 100 mm from the face of the mandrel, must cause no chatter (see sketch below). BRAKING MECHANISM Stopping and braking is performed using the pedal located between pedestals. The second time comprises the tension of a flexible hose activating a flexible blade filled with ferodo and thus causing an energetic braking of the pulley wedged on the motor shaft. The adjustment of the tension is carried out by acting on the nuts P. INTERVIEW MAINTENANCE-LUBE Lubrication is provided by a piston pump controlled by an eccentric wedged on the shaft of the harness. The pump sucks the oil through a tube constantly immersed in an oil tank built into the bench. The emptying of the tank is obtained by unscrewing the plug A, while the level of the lubricant can be checked at any time using the viewfinder B. To fill the tank, unscrew the cap C located on the lid and pour the oil directly into the doll until the oil level is at the top of level B. In use, the level must be at the minimum level of the indicator. A bypass at the rear of the doll brings the oil to the upper part forming the tank of the advance box. A hole ensures the return to the tank under doll. In order to check the qualities of the lubricant and to eliminate, if necessary, the impurities entrained by the liquid, the emptying must take place a first time after 8 days of work and at least every two months during the l use of the machine. The oil sucked by the doll is fed by two branches to the spindle bearings. The circulation of the lubricant is checked by the viewfinder D. The lubrication of the gears is ensured by bubbling. Important recommendations Preferably use oils with the characteristics following: VISCOSITY ENGLER at 20 ° - C: 24/25 VISCOSITY ENGLER at 50 ° - C: 4/4, 5 Freezing point below - 23 ° C IIS GENERAL LUBRICATION Except for the preceding indications, the lubrication is carried out under pressure by individual lubricators by means of a pump LUB. EVERYDAY 1 Greasing end support 2 Grease tailstock 3 Lubrication straggler 4 Lubrication apron EVERY TWO MONTHS 5 Renew after draining oil tank doll. ACCESSORIES SPECIAL ACCESSORIES Supplied upon request! Tapered trolley To use this device, adjust and lock the slider A at the desired inclination, make the slide B integral with the slider C, by blocking it on the axis of the slide, by means of the key D, placed permanently on this set. Release the transverse via its nut by removing the screw E. Tapered trolley with extended slide and; rear tool holder Stoppers for disengaging the longitudinal 2-way direction 7 stop positions in work and 1 neutral position for threading This simple and effective mechanism, has 7 adjustable stops allowing the realization of shoulders, grooves or successive dives. The passage from one stop to the other can take place without any disengagement of the automatic longitudinal step; in this case, it is sufficient to eclipse the abutment in contact by rotation of the spacing bar, the resumption of removal is instantaneous. Each of the adjustable stops is identified by a numbered disc seated on the bar. The rotation of this bar is controlled by a ball lever whose longitudinal position is under the convenience of the operator. Locking in divided position is unambiguously assured by a floating roller device. The setting of the successive spacing of the abutments can be executed by reading the vernier on the apron. In order for this operation to be performed accurately, it is sufficient to know that after the adjustable stop has come into contact with the fixed abutment on the apron, the spacing bar will always move a certain amount before provoking. stop the The corrections are made by a fine pitch screw adjoining each movable stop.
