This is prompted by that Thorks LLF article. The Thorks were said to have roughly 300mm of travel and the link appears to be about 300mm long too. There is no good straight-on side view shot of the forks so I'm going to guess the pivot is about 100mm above the axle at full droop. Since the wheel travels in an arc I'm going to presume the 300mm of travel was measured along the chord. At the midpoint of that arc the axle is 40mm away from the chord. For a telefork comparison I'll use 28 degrees, 118.1mm starting trail (60mm offset), 300mm fork stroke, 1480mm wheelbase, 350mm front tire radius. With the rear extended and the forks bottomed the rake drops to 16.7 deg for a pitch change of 11.3 degrees, the trail goes to 42.4mm and wheelbase to 1375mm. At 28 degrees the LLF goes to 267mm tire height for the 300mm chordal travel. With rear extended trail goes from 118 at droop to -57mm at full bump. If you look at the photo in the article showing the bike completely bottomed out the front wheel looks quite far ahead of the steering axis. With pivot level with axle (350mm) trail drops to 35mm at 190mm wheel displacement, hits 42mm at 236mm and ends at 61mm. Midstroke trail is less than telefork by a maximum of approx 34mm. If offset reduced to 55mm then trail is 124, 41 at about 190mm and ends at 66mm. Y1 425 with 60mm offset and 266mm trail starts at 118 like the telefork bike and drops to -33mm at full bump.
