Information on Lucas Rita Electronic Ignitions and

On 05 September 2016 I received an email from Al Osborn at A.O. Services in England.

Al told me that Mistral Engineering ceased trading some months/years ago, and it sounds like the Hoppy Bike "Moira" components may not be available. Al says he can supply RITA repairs and the last few parts from Mistral Engineering's stock.

Lucas Rita ignitions went out of production in 2004 when the amplifiers stopped being manufactured (though they are now back in production as MOIRA (see above). As of 07/01/2004 I no longer deal in any electronic components. I will leave the wiring diagrams and related information on the site to assist those people who need them. An update from Rex's Speed Shop in August 2022: I thought I’d just drop you a line to let you know that Rex’s now manufacture new replacement AB5 and AB11 circuit boards to drop inside existing Rita boxes.

The idea is that it makes these units a quick and easy fix for those far away from England. Now a home mechanic can just drop in a new circuit to replace a failed one. All the original parts can be used, coils, pick-up etc.

We recently bought the remaining Mistral engineering stock from Alan Osbourne, who is mostly retired now but still doing a few repairs here in the UK.
